Greg Hills, a Duke University graduate, began his career in real estate in 1979. His earliest professional roles, with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services in Boston, MA, and at Monogram Industries (NYSE), provided opportunities to learn sound, fundamental business principles firsthand in a real-world setting. Throughout his career in real estate, Greg has specialized in acquisitions, development, restoration/renovation, management, design, and disposition of multi-family, condominiums, shopping centers, land development, and historic preservation projects. Under his guidance and direction, Austin Lawrence Partners has been recognized for our outstanding work and our positive impact on communities, with many neighborhoods improved and buildings designated as landmarks.

JANE HILLS

Jane Hills developed her marketing and design expertise in both commercial and residential real estate as vice president of a Southern California real estate marketing and PR agency, where she created successful marketing programs for a range of real estate projects and specialized in solving design, marketing, and management problems for distressed properties. Her passion for development and redevelopment imbues her work with Austin Lawrence Partners, evident in her ability both to see the potential in places and to bring vision to fruition that is meaningful to the community. Through serving on the boards of various educational, medical, athletic, and historic preservation organizations, Jane strives to effect change in the communities where we work.

AUSTIN HILLS

Austin Hills is the son of Austin Lawrence Partners’ founders Greg and Jane Hills. While he grew up in the business, Austin officially joined Austin Lawrence Partners in 2012 after graduating from Duke University with a major in political science and a certificate in markets and management studies. In his current role, Austin is responsible for ongoing development management as well as sourcing acquisition opportunities.

ZACH PRAGER

Zach Prager graduated from Duke University in 2012 with a major in psychology and a certificate in markets and management studies. He joined Austin Lawrence Partners in 2016 after spending the previous four years in high-yield credit and structured credit at Citigroup in New York City. As director of investments, Zach is responsible for fundraising, investor relations, and sourcing acquisition opportunities. He excels at building lasting relationships to support projects that not only meet our investors’ financial objectives, but also improve communities in exciting ways that our partners can take pride in. Zach currently sits on the board of directors for the Durham Children’s Initiative and the Duke Triangle Alumni Association.

Whitney Hills graduated from Duke University in 2015 with a major in cultural anthropology and a minor in African and African American studies. Whitney joined Austin Lawrence Partners in 2019 after spending two years working in social media and marketing for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment with the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. In her current role as marketing associate and interior design associate, Whitney is in charge of design market research, sourcing, product and idea development for existing and new product, social media, websites, and collateral marketing development. With knowledge and intuition sharpened by her experience in ever-changing markets, Whitney keeps us at the leading edge of fast-moving trends across various sectors.

PETER STUMM

Peter Stumm graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Economics and is currently working towards a degree in Construction Management from Indiana State University which will be completed in May 2023. Peter joined Austin Lawrence Partners as an intern in January 2020 after spending the previous four years running his own commercial/residential painting company. The responsibilities for his company included sales, marketing, sourcing, and management. While working with ALP as an intern, Peter surpassed all expectations in business and personnel relationships and supported all projects whenever needed with goals and objectives mandated by investors, partners, and team members. Peter has continued to excel in his role as Project Management Associate and is looking forward to utilizing the skills that he has learned thus far as he works on current and upcoming projects for ALP.

Cindy Brown graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Mathematics. She spent additional years in Blacksburg studying Computer Science until moving to North Carolina to work in Telecommunications. In recent years she retrained as a bookkeeper at various companies in Durham and brings extensive experience working with family-owned companies. Her attention to detail and experience working as a bookkeeper in the construction industry makes her an asset to our team. She will be our bookkeeper for the company and our properties.

CHARLIE COLASURDO

Charlie Colasurdo joined Austin Lawrence Partners in 2023, shortly after graduating from Duke University with a degree in political economy and public policy. An urbanist and photographer, Charlie’s fascination with cities has led him to work in the tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City, an urban planning consultancy in Bangkok, and now informs ALP’s efforts to create vibrant spaces in Durham and beyond. In his current role, Charlie conducts market and industry research, as well as fosters relationships with academics, planners, and policymakers to better understand the dynamics shaping the cities of tomorrow.
